Kristin Wiig's 2nd time Hosting

It was gold- and much needed positivity! The surprise guests were numerous, the sketches were hilarious, and the biggest thing of all is some fantastic characters from Kristin Wiig's time on SNL were brought back!!! Pure joy, and brilliance! Here are some sketches that you have to see or maybe watch again:

So, Surprise Lady Sue!!!! Whenever I see that fantastic block patterned sweater, I know that it's about to get hilarious. This is a character to me(like Debbie Downer for instance) that I don't believe will ever get old. Take a look for yourself:

This is probably one of the craziest sketches I've ever seen! It was a combination of creepy/funny and I loved it and it's definitely a sketch that after you watch it once, you want to re-watch it just to take in the bananas of it all.

To sum up Kristin Wiig's 2nd time hosting, I'm ready for her to host again. You know when she is on, that the show is going to be ridiculously hilarious and upbeat-

Kristen Wiig

KRISTEN WIIG IS HOSTING THIS WEEK! The best part is I have a feeling we will see some old cast members pop up as well as some characters we have missed since she left the show... I am so looking forward to this!

Hallelujah

Time to be a little real here... I sat Election night with my niece, mom, sister, and nephew and we were all waiting in anticipation as what we were hoping (in our eyes) would've been one of the greatest moments to witness. We live in an area that is swallowed by red on the chart when the votes are being tallied and my hopeful Hillary posts of love and togetherness, my political SNL clips, etc. caused me to get hate mail from lots of people including family(one family member had even told me during this election that a woman should never be president). But, I'm not the person that comes from anger and even when the negative messages were sent to me this year, I didn't lose the positivity, hope, kind thoughts, etc.. So, as I watched the votes roll in and it was heart breaking. I was so invested and later that night after my niece and nephew were asleep and the election came to an end, I was completely still. This had been a hard fought race for so many of us who were invested on both sides and losing that hope that I had felt horrible and processing it was hard.
Which brings us to Saturday's SNL. As the show began and Kate McKinnon as Hillary began to sing "Hallelujah", the feelings that I didn't process all week hit and I began to cry... It felt like everything that so many of us felt. We had been experiencing such a powerful excitement that had been building and felt so possible and yet was halted so instantaneously. Secretary Clinton's hard fight and life of service that I have admired and it just wasn't in the cards. But then the closing words to the cold open reminded me of something so important:  "I'm not giving up and neither should you".  This isn't over. We can still be hopeful, dream big, and know that it's more than just our vote that's the important part of being an American Citizen. It's also, making your voice heard, volunteering to assist in campaigns(I did this year), and being supportive of one another even when we disagree on things like political races.

So, thank you SNL, for helping me (as well as others I'm sure) resolve those feelings and laugh. I really appreciate it.

Get Yours!

Here we go- August Ticket Lottery Time!!!!

After pondering this for a minute, I am pretty sure I would rather win this lottery than the actual lottery. I have been trying to get tickets for YEARS, so of course I have already sent my emails. But I really hope you all are lucky as well. So, here's the email address that you need to submit your request to:

snltickets@nbcuni.com

Make sure to include ALL OF YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION(address, email, phone number) and remember you cannot request a certain date(basically you have to Tim Gunn this business and whatever date you get, you better 'make it work').

I am really rooting for you all and here's to Season 42!

42 Shuffle

As SNL is gearing up for it's 42nd season, we know that it is the norm to hear of cast changes, but I will be honest, I wasn't expecting the news today. Both Jay Pharoah and Taran Killam are out, as well as Featured Player Jon Rudnitsky.
It can be a little easier to lose a 1st year featured player like Jon- unless you're a fan of their work prior to the show, they don't have very much time to shine on air, so we don't really get that time to get to know their comedy. In the case of both Jay and Taran though, it's safe to say I'm a little bummed that we didn't get a 'Fred, Jason, or Bill Season 38' level send off as these two felt like big players in the show. It just feels very abrupt(which does happen sometimes with SNL cast members). I know in the end though that Lorne Michaels always has a well thought out plan, so I am looking forward to seeing the cast members that will step up in Jay's and Taran's place as well as the feel of Season 42 over all now. But as a reminder of the sheer amazing talent that Jay and Taran are in comedy and have been to SNL for the past 6 years(if I'm not mistaken), here are some of my favorite sketches they were apart of.

This sketch might be one of my favorite of all time and inspired the name of my web address. Here's Taran Killam in Mokiki: http://www.hulu.com/watch/423750

Also, I laugh every time I see 'Eddie the Overprotective Brother'. When I watch it, I catch myself laughing about 'Glice' for a couple of days. Taran is just on another level in this one: http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/protective-brother/n32602

My favorite thing about Jay Pharoah is his impressions. He is just about untouchable. I have to post his weekend update Rappers Meeting:   http://www.hulu.com/watch/941734

His impersonation of  President Obama might be the best out there. It was hard to narrow it down, but this one has been my favorite Obama sketch for a long time. Here's Obama's and Romney's Town Hall Debate: http://www.hulu.com/watch/415485

NYC-again

So, I'm thinking that I'm in need of a trip to New York in August or October. It's killing me that I didn't get to go last year. It will be a new time of year(as I usually go in December). So, here's hoping that I will be able to work this out and I will let ya'll know ASAP :) ... But until then, when do you all think the best time of year to go to New York is?
